Recorded on a summer's day in 2023, 't-shirt piano' is a fully improvised solo piano album recorded by London's KINDER aka Leo Wyatt. A marked departure from the intricately layered productions of 2021's 'Different', this album explores his first true love in music: the piano.

The piano in question is a Yamaha upright that sits in the office where Wyatt works, with multiple t-shirts placed in between the strings and the hammers. The use of t-shirts creates a unique intricate and delicate percussive sound, similar to using felt but with the ability to change the thickness of dampening for different ranges of the piano.

Each song on the album represents certain places and memories in Wyatt's life, with highlights such as 'driving along the wye' - driving along the winding roads that weave around the River Wye, 'kynance' - watching the dogs play in the waves crashing around Kynance Cove and 'missing the land' - a nostalgic plea for simpler days playing outside as a child.

Recorded in an intimate setting, with Leo producing, engineering and mixing, the entire day was also filmed by Ben K Adams who brought with him his dog, Waffle. This personal recording environment is reflected in the recordings, with small cursory conversations and dog barks interspersed between the tracks.
